Ever wish you could spark joy—and maybe a little healthy FOMO—while making a real difference? This fall, I’m doing exactly that! On October 25th, I’ll be running the Great Trek 10km at UBC. I’m not in top shape yet. Honestly, running 10K feels huge. But I’m doing this to challenge myself—and to help kids at BC Children’s Hospital get the care they need. This is my journey, and you’re invited to be a part of it.
Why Running for BC Children’s Hospital Kids Matters

Imagine this: A small kid gets to ring the “end of treatment” bell, and you can almost hear their laughter echo down the hallways. That’s what your help means. I might not know you, but we both know how important it is for every child to have a shot at happy, healthy days. Every dollar raised goes straight to making that possible—helping kids across BC, no matter who they are or where they live.
My 10K Challenge: Out of Breath, but All In
Training for this 10K isn’t easy for me—right now, just jogging around the block feels like a victory. But I decided to get uncomfortable, lace up, and go big for kids who face far scarier challenges each day. If you’ve ever struggled to start something hard, you get it! I want every step to count—because I know each step is for a kid who’s dreaming of being back in school, on the playground, or home with family.

How Your Support Helps Kids—and Why It’s Fun to Join In

Here’s why your donation packs a punch:
- It funds new treatments and medical research.
- It buys smart tech for young patients.
- It helps keep families together during tough times.
And here’s the fun part: You’re not just donating, you’re teaming up with me. Every donation gets us closer to more happy endings (and, who knows, your good deed might inspire your own challenge, too!).
Want a running mantra for your next hard day? Here’s one I love: “One step more than yesterday.” Save this post as your pick-me-up, or send me a message saying “10K” on Instagram to learn the 10K training program I use—I’ll share it for free!
Trust and Transparency—Every Gift Goes Straight to the Kids
You can trust that every dollar you give lands right with BC Children’s Hospital. I never handle the money—only the running and the smiles! The donation system is secure, transparent, and your kindness turns into medicines, care, and hope.
